Goal Setting/Habits & Launching into 2024 with Intention and Mindfulness
Creating a strong, healthy foundation in your daily tasks can motivate you to "Swallow the Toad" on bigger things.
“Swallow the Toad”?! Yes, I said that right.
Have you ever heard of that phrase? Or maybe the title of a book by Brian Tracy, called “Eat That Frog!”? It’s to help you stop procrastinating and get sh!t done. I’ll link that book here, because I’ll be referring back to that phrase throughout.
Having healthy habits is the foundation to a good strong routine. I do however believe that switching up your routine every once in a while and stepping out of that “body” is healthy. Being able to add certain things your routine is missing can be enhancing in many areas.
having a really strong foundation and getting cozy with that is key, not getting comfortable with it. there is always room for improvement, always room to grow and evolve.
I know it’s kind of cliché to do the whole “new year, new me” thing but I would be lying if I said I didn’t look at a new year as a clean untouched notebook with endless possibilities. Goal setting should be a top priority for you. Gran a journal, or a poster board and get to work.
“Faith without a plan is hope, faith with a plan is manifestation”.
Setting healthy routines and habits is the foundation to reaching your goals. As your foundation strengthens your confidence will grow. What happens when your confident? Your certainty strengthens. What is it that you want in life? How do you want your life to look? How do you want your health to look?
Write it down. I like to really sit and think about my “big goals”, the ones that may take years to get to. Then I like to break them down into smaller goals so I can take small steps to what it is I need to focus on. Maybe it’s not everyone’s favorite thing to do but journaling on the things I desire and hope for is brings me motivation.
Remember stepping out of your comfort zone, your safe little box, is where the magic happens. That’s where growth happens.
Maybe your goal is just to be at peace with what is and to spend quality time with your family multiple times a month. Get to planning. Schedule out days in the month where you do that. Put those times on your calendar. Once it’s there, it’s harder to cancel on them. If your goals are to make more money to put into your savings, write out how much. What things are you going to do to make more money? Sell some of your belongings? Have a service you can sell on the side? Is a goal of yours is to start your own business? Why not start that? Schedule time once a week for the month of January to start your research. Increase that amount of time each month. If you start now, you could be earning income from your dream business by Christmas. It’s time to accomplish some goals, get to making your list and lets get going!
I have a few resources for you on this topic. One, is a book by James Clear called “"Atomic Habits”, and the other is another book by Brian Tracy called “Eat That Frog!”
